Antiquorum, the world's premier watch auctioneer, looks forward to its June 8th sale of "Important Modern & Vintage Timepieces" at their US headquarters in New York City. Following the sale of a unique Patek Philippe minute-repeater earlier this year, Antiquorum continues to offer exceptional and unique watches from the world's most important manufactures. In the June auction Antiquorum will offer two unique watches, an Audemars Piguet Grande Complication and a Vacheron Constantin platinum minute-repeating perpetual calendar wristwatch. Pre-sale previews will be held in Los Angeles, Singapore, Shanghai, Hong Kong and New York.

The highlight of the sale is the Audemars Piguet Piece Unique made for the company's 125th anniversary in 2000 with reverse engraved with Arnold Schwarzenegger's signature. Made specially for the inaugural 'Time to Give' charity auction co-hosted by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Muhammad Ali, the watch is a large minute-repeating, titanium and 18K pink gold wristwatch featuring a round button split-seconds chronograph and perpetual calendar with moon phases.

Estimate:  $250,000 - $ 350,000

The attractive and unique Vacheron & Constantin Minute-Repeating Perpetual Calendar wristwatch in a 40mm platinum case was made in 2002 as a unique example. It is offered complete with original box, certificate of authenticity and recent factory service.

Estimate: $ 200,000 - $250,000.

 


Another extraordinary Audemars Piguet, the "Millenary Maserati  Anniversary MC12 Tourbillon and Chronograph" was made in 2006 in a limited edition of 150 pieces, to commemorate the success of the Maserati MC12 in the 2005 FIA GT Manufacturers' Cup. This very rare platinum wristwatch with twin white gold and palladium alloy barrels, black carbon movement with blue anodized aluminum bridges, and 10-day power reserve also features a visible one-minute tourbillon regulator, oval-button chronograph, register and tachometer.

Estimate: $140,000 - $ 160,000

A rare and exceptional yellow gold Patek Philippe ref. 3448, made in 1977 and retailed by Howes Jewelers, with perpetual calendar and moon phases, is accompanied by the extract from the archives.

Estimate: $100,000 - $120,000

The Patek Philippe enthusiast will take note of 17 modern Patek Philippe wristwatches from an East Coast collector. All meticulously cared for, the watches are in excellent condition and retain their original box and papers. Highlights of this collection include:

- A Patek Philippe platinum ref. 5050 with Roman dial. This self-winding astronomic wristwatch with perpetual calendar, retrograde date, leap year indication and moon phases is accompanied by its original fitted winding box, setting pin, booklets, Certificate of Origin, spare strap and an additional solid platinum case back.

Estimate: $ 80,000 - $ 100,000.


- A Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar chronograph wristwatch, ref. 3970. This yellow gold wristwatch with round button chronograph, register, perpetual calendar, moon phases, leap year indication and 24-hour indication is accompanied by its original wooden fitted box, setting pin, 18K yellow gold case back, spare strap and Certificate of Origin.

Estimate: $ 70,000 - $90,000.


- A Patek Philippe ref. 5100, "10 Days", made in a limited edition of 450 examples in 2000, is a white gold, rectangular lozenge-shaped wristwatch, with 10-day power reserve. It is accompanied by its original fitted box, attestation, solid silver medallion celebrating the third millennium inlaid in a Plexiglas plate, setting pin, booklet and Certificate of Origin.

Estimate: $50,000 - $70,000

- A Patek Philippe ref. 3940. This rare self-winding platinum wristwatch with perpetual calendar, 24 hour and leap year indication and moon phases, is offered with its original box and papers.

Estimate: $ 45,000 - $ 55,000

 


Antiquorum watch experts are proud to offer premiere Rolex collectors an exceptional Rolex Oyster Stainless Steel Triple-Calendar wristwatch, ref. 6062. Made in very limited numbers between 1950 and 1953, the model is considered to be the favorite vintage Rolex of many dedicated collectors and is very rarely found in such original condition.

Estimate: $ 150,000 - $200,000.


To compliment this rare watch, Antiquorum will offer an equally rare and exquisite stainless steel vintage Rolex with triple calendar and chronograph. This watch is commonly known as the 'Jean Claude Killy', after the world-famous Swiss skier and Rolex ambassador who once called it his favorite watch. This reference 6236, made in 1960, is in exceptional condition and comes directly from the family of the original owner

Estimate: $80,000-120,000.

For the vintage Rolex Sports watch aficionado, June 8 will bring the opportunity to bid on a one-owner Patent-Pending Rolex ref. 1665 Double Red Sea-Dweller. It is believed that fewer than 100 Patent Pending Sea-Dwellers were released. Today they are among the most desirable vintage Rolex sports watches. Made in 1967, this example is a rare, self-winding, stainless steel diver's chronometer wristwatch with Mark I Double Red Sea-Dweller logo, helium escape valve, and date.
